Yay for poos!

We are thrilled that the "milk chocolate explosion" occurred in Emily's diaper last night! We had been waiting for 5 days for some business from that end and we were all placing bets on who was gonna be the lucky candidate to change the diaper. Mommy woke Daddy up at 3am to partake in the festivities!

An update....

We are having fun getting used to being parents, although I am finding it too weird to not be coming back to school this term. It feels odd to being worrying about the plans and welfare of only one child now, instead of 125 each day.

Bryce is a great dad, and has been a fantastic partner in all of this. He takes care of the bottom half of Emily and I take care of the top half. The funniest conversation happened at about 4 am the other day when Bryce had put her to bed and I was going to get up and do the "next shift" when Bryce told me that I should get the bottle from the fridge to use for the next feeding. I found this pretty odd, as we are only breast feeding and do not have any bottles here at home. So I asked him where did the bottle come from and how did you get the milk? He said "I expressed it before". I again was confused and kept on prodding for an answer I could understand. "So, did you express the milk from me while I was sleeping?" I knew this couldn't be true, but was too fascinated at where Bryce has acquired breast milk on his own. He said, "No we took it out before the birth". What?? I had had no drugs, except gas during the birth and knew that surely Bryce and our midwife had not "milked me" before I gave birth, but was so confused!! Anyway, I ignored Bryce's instruction in the end and when he finally woke up later, and I asked him what he meant, we all realised that Bryce is a good "sleep-talker" and was just really tired!!

My body is healing quickly too, which is a blessing. I am not as sore when sitting as last week, and I am adjusting well to my new "implants". I am kidding of course, I didn't get implants, but this whole "milk coming in" thing is pretty random! I am ever impressed every day at how my body just "knows what to do" and how Emily's body i complimented and satisfied perfectly from the milk I can give her. I thought I would truly feel like (as one friend called it) a "dairy maid" but I don't feel as mammalian as I had fretted about!

The race is on....

So after being monitored this morning and finding out that the baby is not keen to come out yet, we now have an inducement date of April 14th.
We now have a race going: baby vs inducement date. I have put my bets on the baby. Let's hope he/she comes through for me!! (no pun intended)

1 day to go....

So we are one day before the due date....I am not anxious or frustrated about the belly, but it will be nice to pop this wee one out very soon!

The baby sweepstakes

So my PE dept decided to put together a sweepstakes for when this little bubba is gonna arrive on the scene. Since then, a few more people have added their thoughts. We thought we might broadcast it for all to see and for those of you who get it right to gloat to others. Only Mom and Dad, Rob and Kathy have picked gender at this stage, but anyone else who wants to get in on this lil event can email or facebook me and let me know what day they want to put down. Some people have been a bit cruel with their weight guesses. Here's hoping most of you get that bit wrong!

March 25 - Brenda (8lb.8oz)
March 26 - Wendy (9.11)
March 31 - Jess (7.0)
April 1 - Jenny (7.15) and Vanessa
April 2 - Rob (8.6) & Amelia
April 3 - Jon (9.0) and Eleana
April 4 - Dad (9.0) & Denise (8.1)
April 5 - Biggzy (8.1)
April 6 - Robyn (9.4 1/2)
April 7 - Mom (9.4) & Aimee (8.3), and Chris S. (9.2), and Kathy (8.8)
April 8 - Bridget (9.1) and Bryce (8.8)
April 9 - Richard (8.4) and Sarah (8.5)
April 10 - Grada (the midwife! , 8.5) and Kristie (8.10), and Ursula (9.0)
April 11 - Aaron (7.11)
April 12 - Tim (8.10)
April 13 - Roz (9.1)
April 15 - Carl (8.7)

So it looks like April 4 and 7th are the most popular days. April 3rd is the predicted day we have had all along, but most Knight babies don't follow deadlines! And Mom and Dad both have been convinced its been a girl since we started calling it the April project back in the day. Bryce is pretty sure its a girl too. Brother Rob thinks girl, but his wife Kathy and my other brother Tim and his wife Kristie have predicted a boy with lots of dark hair! When speaking to my belly around week 22, it punched me from the inside when I asked it to "punch if you are a girl" and then when I asked it again, it did the same thing.....but went silent when I asked about being a boy. So if it is a girl, she is very intelligent and has known her own gender for several months in utero. However.....if it is a little man in there, the theory is all blown!

Volleyball Nationals 2010

So as I said in a previous entry, I did not go to the Nationals with the girls, except for the first day. It was really difficult to train them all season and then leave them to fight the country's best teams on their own, but I was too big and pregnant to be there every day. I have uploaded some video of the girls that was taken if you are keen to see the game play at all. They are such a fantastic group of ladies; really sweet, very athletic and extremely talented. I have loved working with them and look forward to getting back into it in Term 4 (as a break from being a mommy!)
